How to Eat

How to eat Xiao Long Bao

There is soup inside. Here is how not to burn yourself.

  1. Lift by the knot

Use chopsticks to lift the dumpling by its top, and rest it on your spoon.

  2. Bite a small hole

Nibble the side of the skin to let steam escape.

  3. Sip the soup

Drink the broth from the spoon first, while it is hot.

  4. Add ginger and vinegar

A sliver of young ginger dipped in black vinegar, then eat the rest in one bite.

The soup dumplings are the real thing. Eighteen folds, you can count them. Watch the video on their site before you go so you don't burn your mouth like I did.
